Eric Lapointe
Co-Chair
Ex-Just For Laughs & Cirque du Soleil executive Lapointe has been living in White Rock since 2017, and helped the City & the BIA expand the Buskers Festival with a stand-up comedy wing. He recently launched an entire season of Yuk Yuk’s comedy night shows at the White Rock Players Club theatre.
His entertainment background will set the stage for its overall longterm vision within the community.
Lizzie Allan
Co-Chair
White Rock’s own international sensation, Allan Is a multi-talented performer, comedian, therapist and TEDx speaker. As the creator/cofounder of Hilarapy, Allan combines laughter and therapy for a truly unique and powerful experience.
Her professional background will lead the way in creating high quality events, productions and customer experiences.
Garry Yuill
Treasurer
As the CEO of Icarus Capital Group, and the 0wner of Yuk Yuk’s Vancouver Calgary and Yuk Yuk’s Surrey, Yuill brings over 10 years of comedy production experience, including food & beverage. Yuill holds a BA in Economics, an MBA and is a CPA who teaches at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
His experience will help guide our organization’s governance and administration.
Ryan Lachance
Programming Director
Long-time White Rock resident Ryan Lachance is one of Canada’s most well-known comedians with recent success at the Halifax Comedy Festival and recorded audio for JFL Originals.
Lachance has established strong relationships with comedians from coast to coast. This experience will support the programming of the festival to not only attract Vancouver’s best but invite Canada’s finest acts.
Ellen Bradley-Cheung
Events Producer
Ellen Bradley-Cheung is passionate about comedy and community. She has performed comedy from the West Coast to Halifax. She is a facilitator and performer with Hilarapy, merging laughter with therapy, and is a TEDx Solon speaker and counsellor.
Ellen is excited to infuse her enthusiasm for comedy and community spirit into the South Rock Comedy Festival.
Lisa Person
Art Director
After high school, Lisa studied three years at Emily Carr College of Art. Then she got sidetracked and spent a couple of decades doing things like camp catering, cake decorating and carpentry. In 2000, she enrolled in college for graphic design.
She’s been a graphic/web designer for 20 years, and has worked both freelance and full-time for companies.She’s also been doing stand-up comedy for about 10 years.
Eileen Malischewski
Web Designer
Eileen, feels blessed to live in White Rock, and is thrilled to be part of this team. She brings 20 years of web technology experience, a deep love for her community, and a strong belief in changing the world through positive actions.
Eileen is passionate about using social media for good and believes that happy, positive comedy has the transformative power to change the world.
